Pretty much all of Louisiana is back to school this week and we have a few tips for parent to help ease their kids into getting back into the regular dental routine.
Try a little encouragement like some of these tips below!
Having them involved and feeling in charge in any type of way can act as a small incentive and encourage them to want to brush their teeth, especially if it means they get to use their brand new super cool toothbrush! 😎
Have more than one child? Try turning their dental habits into a fun contest or game. Nothing makes kids want to do something more like feeling like a winner!
Not only should you be teaching your kids the "How" in practicing good dental care, but also the "Why." Teach them the consequences with fun charts and pictures so they can visually see the need to take good care of their teeth.
Consistency is key. Kids are way more likely to stick to their dental habits if it becomes part of their daily routine.
Still need to schedule your child's back to school check up?

Being that our teeth and sinuses are connected, understanding what's causing pain in the general area can sometimes be hard to decipher.
Sinus infections or "sinusitis" are usually problems called by a virus, bacteria, allergies are nasal-related issues. Sinusitis is often triggered by the common cold or allergies and will usually clear up on its own, after consulting with your doctor. If you have a recurring sinus infection or an infection lasting longer than 8 weeks, you may be suffering from a chronic infection and it is adviced that you seek medical assistance.
Possible symptoms of sinus infections include:
Besides the obvious pain in your teeth, if you exhibit other problems such as a headache, a toothache might be the cause of your mouth-related issues. Another likely sign of oral health issues is if you have tried natural and over the counter remedies for your sinusitis and haven't have had any success in solving your teeth pain.
If this is the case, it is recommended that you make a trip to see your dentist so that your problem areas can be properly assessed, diagnosed and treated.
